My name is Amy St.Pierre and I am so excited to introduce myself as the new principal of OHMS. I am honored to continue working in RSU#4, which is known for its dedication to excellence, but more importantly, to students. Over the past 19 years, I have worked as a teacher, coach, professor and administrator, but I consider my most important job to be a child advocate. I will spend time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.

Not only am I excited to begin working with your children, but I look forward to the work we will do together. As the old African Proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I am excited to see your children through your eyes and I’m eager to share with you the great things they do throughout their days.

My goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe, so they may learn as much as they can. This has been my philosophy since I began my career in education. I worked in a middle school for 13 years, where I taught grades 5-8. I have also worked as a Reading Specialist and Literacy Coach in grades K-8 as well as facilitated professional development and parent workshops. Most recently I moved to RSU#4 where I was the Assistant Principal at SPS and OHMS supporting your young learners each day. Please know I will work tirelessly to ensure all your children have the best possible experiences while at SPS and OHMS.

Outside of the RSU#4 setting, I continue to teach and learn as well. I am a professor at the University of Maine where I have the honor and privilege to educate students learning to become teachers! However, my greatest achievement in teaching and learning comes not professionally, but personally, as I am the mother of two amazing children ages 14 and 17.

I look forward to a positive and safe 2022-2023 school year! If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by email at: amy.stpierre@rsu4.org
